Sara Colvin Rn, Bsn, Mpa/Hca

Sara Colvin, RN,BSN, MPA/HCA has extensive work experience in nursing management and leadership roles. Sara began their career as a Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center from 1991 to 1992. From there, they worked as a Nurse Manager at Trinity Home Health from 1993 to 1995. Sara then joined Texas Home Health as a Registered Nurse Supervisor, later becoming the Lead Supervisor from 2001 to 2004. Sara advanced to become the Director of Clinical Services from 2004 to 2008, where they supervised a large staff and ensured compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Sara then transitioned to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, first serving as a Nurse Manager from 2008 to 2009 before being promoted to the role of Nursing Operations Officer from 2009 to 2013. In these positions, they were responsible for overseeing the operations of the nursing department and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Sara then served as the Director of Nursing at Hearne Healthcare Center from July 2013 to September 2013, and thereafter was the Director of Nursing at Navasota Nursing & Rehab from September 2013 to January 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Nursing Services at D&S Community Services since January 2020. Sara's experience demonstrates their extensive knowledge, expertise, and leadership capabilities in nursing management and administration.

Sara Colvin holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Nursing, which they earned from Praire View A&M University from 1987 to 1990. Sara went on to pursue their Masters of Public Administration/Health Care Administration at the University of Texas at Tyler, specializing in Executive Health Care Administration, completing this program from 2011 to 2012.
