Dr. Thomas Ferge

Dr. Thomas Ferge currently serves as the Group Paper and Board Development Director at DS Smith plc, a position held since January 2014, following a tenure as Group Technical Manager in R&D for European Paper and Packaging. Prior experience includes the role of New Product Development Manager for Glatfelter's Composite Fibres Business Unit, where Dr. Ferge defined NPD strategy and coordinated research and development projects in the Food & Beverage sector. Previous positions at British American Tobacco included Regional Packaging and Materials Manager, overseeing a team responsible for material technology and packaging operations, along with several roles focusing on product development and laboratory management. Dr. Ferge began a research career as a Research Scientist at Universität Augsburg before earning a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich and a Diploma in Chemistry from the University of Tübingen.
