Michael Carnes has worked in various engineering and audio roles since 1997. Michael began their career as an EE co-op at Lexicon in 1997. Michael then worked as a Systems Engineer at Solutions In Motion, Inc from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 to 2006, they worked as a Systems Engineer and a Sr. Audio Systems Engineer at Palm, Inc. In 2010, they became the Chief Audio Architect at Hewlett-Packard/Palm. From 2011 to 2013, they were the Director of Audio Development at Design SHIFT. Michael then served as the Director of Audio at Beats by Dr. Dre from 2013 to 2019. Since 2019, they have been the Principal Engineer at Rivian. Most recently, in 2022, they took on the role of Engineering Manager - Validation Center at DSP Concepts.
Michael Carnes attended Northeastern University from 1994 to 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
