Taka Unno has extensive work experience in the field of digital signal processing (DSP) and audio algorithm development. Taka is currently working as the Principal DSP algorithm engineer at DSP Concepts since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at X, the moonshot factory as a DSP Algorithm Developer from June 2019 to January 2022. From January 2017 to June 2019, Taka served as the Principal Audio DSP Engineer at DSP Concepts, Inc. Taka also held the role of Director of Digital Signal Processing at Eargo from August 2015 to December 2016. Before that, Taka worked as the Principal DSP audio algorithm engineer at EarLens from December 2014 to July 2015 and as a Software Product Algorithm Manager at Audience, Inc. from March 2014 to November 2014. Taka's earlier work experience includes roles as an Audio and Speech DSP Algorithm Architect and an Acoustic and Speech R&D Technical Lead at Texas Instruments. Taka was also a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a Speech and DSP R&D engineer at Asahi Kasei Corporation in Japan. Taka has a strong background in designing and testing DSP algorithms, especially in the areas of audio, speech, and hearing-aid technology.
Taka Unno obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Physics at Nagoya University from 1981 to 1987. Additionally, Taka Unno has obtained several certifications in the field of machine learning, including Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects. These certifications were obtained from Coursera in 2019.
