Shane Smith

Shane Smith, MS, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in continuous improvement and engineering within the energy and marine sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Continuous Improvement Expert at DTE Energy since June 2015, Shane has held various roles including Continuous Improvement Expert, Program Supervisor of Nuclear Maintenance Training, and Senior Nuclear Instructor. Previous positions include Marine Engineer at Hornbeck Offshore and Field Service Technician/Training Coordinator at HEUFT USA, Inc. Shane's foundational experience stems from service in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician Nuclear for submarines. Shane holds a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration from Ferris State University and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Northwestern Michigan College, alongside a certification in Nuclear Power from the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.
