John Baranick

John Baranick is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive experience in agricultural weather forecasting and meteorological services. Since November 2011, John has served as Team Lead of Ag Weather at DTN, collaborating with the weather room in Burnsville, MN, and the editorial team at Progressive Farmer magazine to create forecasts for agriculture-focused customers. Prior roles at DTN include Transportation and Energy Meteorologist, where John prepared forecasts and provided consultations for the US DOT and energy sectors, and Staff Aviation Meteorologist, responsible for global aviation weather communications. Earlier in his career, John was a Consumables Team Leader at Target, gaining valuable retail management experience, and served as a Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University, helping to educate students in introductory meteorology. John holds a BS degree in Meteorology with a minor in Agronomy from Iowa State University.
