Apurva Shah

Apurva Shah has worked in the animation and technology industries for over 25 years. Apurva began their career in 1993 as an Instructor and Systems Administrator at Ringling College of Art and Design. Apurva then moved to PDI/Dreamworks in 1994 as a Sequence Supervisor. In 2001, they joined Pixar as a Visual Effects Supervisor, where they were part of the technical brain trust and was the overall technical supervisor for the film Cars2. In 2013, they joined Prana, Rhythm & Hues Studios as the SVP Global Technology, coordinating technical and pipeline teams over three different countries and time zones. In 2016, they were the Head of Creative Technology at Capital One, leading multiple teams and establishing a portfolio based innovation process. In 2018, they were the CEO and CTO of Duality Robotics, and an Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts. In 2019, they were a Strategic Advisor at Green Rain Studios, and in 2020 they were a Technical Advisor at Spire Animation Studios, Inc. Apurva is also the Founder and Strategic Advisor at Whamix.

Apurva Shah holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Texas A & M University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai, and completed a Startup Accelerator program at AngelPad from 2018-2019. Additionally, Apurva Shah completed a Negotiations Program at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
