Michal Baczynski

Michal Baczynski has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Michal is currently the Head of Software Engineering Site in Poland - Center of Excellence (CoE) at Duck Creek Technologies since 2024. Prior to this, they worked at Applause from 2019 to 2023, where they served as the Senior Director / Head of Software Development Center in Warsaw. Michal was responsible for rebuilding the Software Development Technology Center in Poland, managing budgets, implementing Agile methodologies, and overseeing key technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and AWS. Before that, they held the position of Director / Head of Software Development Technology Center at IQVIA (Quintiles + IMS Health) from 2016 to 2018. Michal also had a successful tenure at IMS Health where they started as a Senior Manager / Head of Warsaw Technology Center in 2013 and was later promoted to the Director level. Michal has experience managing technology planning and management groups, leading global projects, and developing embedded software. Michal began their career at Samsung Electronics Polska, Poland R&D Center, where they served in various capacities from 2008 to 2013, including Technology Planning & Technology Management Group Leader and Project Leader & Senior Software Engineer. Additionally, they briefly worked as a Researcher at the Technical University of Lodz from 2001 to 2008 and as a Founder and Project Manager at NoE Enterprise Sp. z o.o. from 2000 to 2008. Michal also gained experience as a Guest Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in 2006 and as a Software/Hardware Developer (research cooperation) at the Foundation of Cardiac Surgery Development from 2001 to 2003.

Michal Baczynski earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Polish Academy of Science / Wiener Institut fur Internationale Wirtschaftsve in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Lodz University of Technology in 2011. Their education journey began with a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from Lodz University of Technology, which they completed in 2001.
