Isabel Alvarez

Isabel Alvarez has a diverse work experience in the field of IT and information security. Isabel started their career as an Installation and Support Engineer at Compañía de Ing. Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones - CINETEL in 2010. Isabel then worked as an Instructor at SENA where they were responsible for managing computer networks and executing help desk projects. In 2011, they joined Arolen S.A. as a Project Engineer, where they handled installation, configuration, and support of VPN terminators and perimetral security solutions. Isabel also served as the Platform Administrator for the National Elections of Departmental and Municipal Governments in 2011. Isabel then worked as an Information Security Consultant at Realtime Consulting & Services, where they enforced information security systems, designed and implemented network solutions, and provided troubleshooting support. In 2013, they joined Asmet Salud EPS-S as an ISMS Professional Administrator, managing the Information Security Management System based on ISO27001 and supporting network and server management. Isabel then joined ArquitecSoft in 2015 as an Information Security Engineer, where they led the deployment and maintenance of the Information Security Management System and supported the implementation of the Security and Privacy component for Online Government Strategy. In 2016, they joined Alert Logic as a Site Reliability Engineer, and in 2017, they started working at DuckDuckGo as a Site Reliability Engineer. Isabel was later promoted to Senior IT Ops / DevOps Engineer at DuckDuckGo in October 2018.

Isabel Alvarez completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications from Universidad del Cauca between 2003 and 2010. In 2012-2013, they pursued a Specialization in Telematic Networks Security from Universidad El Bosque. In 2015-2016, they obtained an Inter-university Master's degree on ICT security with a focus on Services and applications security from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

In terms of certifications, in February 2017, Isabel obtained an EFSET English Certificate Plus with a C2 Proficient score of 74/100 from EF Education First. In July 2013, they acquired an AUDITOR INTERNO ISO 22301 certification from SGS. Additionally, they obtained several certifications related to auditing and management systems, including LEADING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AUDIT TEAMS (ISO 27001:05), AUDITING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (27001:2005), and INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ISO 27001:2005), all from Cotecna Certification Services - CQR, certified by RABQSA, in August 2013 and February 2014.
