Maxim Tsoy

Maxim Tsoy has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and engineering. Maxim is currently working as a Senior Privacy Engineer at DuckDuckGo, where they are involved in various projects across the company's products. These projects include working on the macOS browser, browser extension, Tracker Radar, and cookie popup management. Maxim also actively participates in discussions related to W3C standards groups.

Prior to joining DuckDuckGo, Maxim worked at Surfly, where they held multiple roles. Maxim started as a Senior Software Engineer in January 2016 and later became the Head of Research in December 2019. In their role as the Head of Research, Maxim led incubation engineering and contributed to the strategic technical vision of the company.

Before Surfly, Maxim worked as a Freelance Full-Stack Engineer at Sanoma NL for the year 2015. Maxim also has experience as a Member of the SiBears CTF team from 2008 to April 2015.

Maxim's earlier work experience includes roles at Positive Technologies as a Senior Information Security Specialist and Information Security Specialist from 2014 to 2015 and 2011 to 2014, respectively. Maxim served as the Captain of the [TechnoPandas] CTF team from 2012 to March 2015. Additionally, Maxim was a Developer at the BlackBox Project, where they developed an open platform for CTF competitions from 2010 to 2012. Maxim also worked as the Assistant Auditor at Informzaschita in 2011 and as a QA Engineer at F5 Networks from 2010 to 2011.

Maxim Tsoy attended Tomsk State University from 2006 to 2012, where they earned a Specialist degree in Computer Security. In March 2011, they obtained a certification in TOEFL iBT from ETS.
