Cynthia Devere-Bennett currently serves as the National Sustainability Lead, Energy Sector at Ducks Unlimited Canada, focusing on delivering Nature-Based Solutions to tackle GHG emissions, biodiversity, and water challenges. Previously, Cynthia held various roles at CNOOC International, where as a Project Geoscientist, leadership in exploration and appraisal projects in the Stabroek Block led to notable discoveries and high well success rates. Other positions included Geologist in Petrophysics and the North American Gas and Tight Oil Group, where contributions included caprock analysis and optimizing land use. Cynthia's early career includes a role as a Geologist IT at Nexen Inc. and a Research Assistant at Saint Mary's University, where significant research on detrital quartz grains was conducted. Educationally, Cynthia holds a Master's Degree in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science from Saint Mary's University.
