Matthew Christensen

Matthew Christensen currently serves as the Head of Conservation Programs at Ducks Unlimited Canada, a position held since July 2013. Matthew's work includes chairing the British Columbia Spartina Working Group, which focuses on eradicating the invasive spartina species along BC's shores. Prior roles at Ducks Unlimited Canada include Conservation Programs Specialist and Project Coordinator, where Matthew led field programming and stakeholder engagement for the Spartina eradication program. Previously, Matthew gained experience as a Conservation Technician Crew Lead at BC Conservation Foundation, an Environmental Field Technician at Eagle Point Blue Rapids Parks Council, and a Jr. Environmental Specialist at Esak Consulting Ltd. Matthew holds a BSc in Environmental and Conservation Sciences with a focus on Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a GIS Technology Certificate from NAIT.
