Kaja Verhoeven Zupanc

Kaja Verhoeven Zupanc is a highly experienced professional in the field of machine learning and natural language processing. Currently serving as the Head of Machine Learning at Duco since April 2024, Kaja previously held leadership positions as Head of ML and Senior NLP Engineer at Metamaze from March 2022 to March 2024, and as Head of NLP and Senior NLP Engineer at Faktion.ai from October 2018 to March 2022. Kaja co-founded Women in Tech - Belgium in November 2018, aiming to support female representation in technology. Kaja's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana, where Kaja also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Researcher, further enhancing expertise in the field. Prior academic experience includes research roles at the University of Novi Sad and KU Leuven, along with a background in interactive electronic materials at Rokus Klett Slovenija. Kaja holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and a high school diploma in Classics.
