Dónal Landers has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Starting from 2023, they are currently working as the Chief Medical Officer at Duke Street Bio, a biotechnology company focused on developing molecules targeting DNA Damage Repair deficiencies in cancer.

From 2010 to 2019, Dónal had several roles at AstraZeneca, including Senior Director Physician, Clinical Pharmacology Alliance Physician, and Senior Research Physician. During this time, they were responsible for the BISCAY study, AZD4547 programme, and played a part in targeted medicine strategies.

Earlier in their career, Dónal worked at PwC as an Associate Director from 2007 to 2010, and at Valentia Technologies as a Director and Co-Founder from 2004 to 2006, where they had a primary role in the company. Dónal also served as a Principal Consultant at Servecentric from 2002 to 2004 and had a General Consultancy role at B2Hospital Ltd. in 2002. Dónal began their career as the Head of Systems Integration at Worldport Communications Ltd. from 2001 to 2002.

Dónal Landers has an extensive education history. In 1989, they completed their MB, BCh, BAO, BA degree in Medicine at Trinity College Dublin. Dónal then pursued further education, completing an MBA in Business and IT Strategy Development at University College Dublin in 1992. In the same year, they also took additional MBA courses at the University College Dublin European Summer School for Advanced Management.

In 1997, Dónal Landers completed a 1 Year Qualifier Course for an MSc in Computer Applications at Dublin City University, emphasizing their interest in computer science. Dónal continued to expand their knowledge in this field by attending courses on object analysis and design with UML and requirements analysis using use cases at Rational University in 2000.

Dónal Landers also obtained a Six Sigma - Green Belt Certification from SQT Training Ltd. in 2007, further enhancing their skillset. In 1998, they engaged in a Java Programming course offered by Lionet Technologies Ltd.

Following these diverse educational experiences, Dónal Landers focused on pharmaceutical medicine. Dónal completed a postgraduate course in Pharmaceutical Medicine at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they earned a PGCert in Translational Medicine with a specialization in Pharmaceutical Cancer from The University of Manchester.

To advance their career in pharmaceutical medicine, Dónal Landers enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine's FFPM program at the Royal College of Physicians in London, UK, earning a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FFPM) in 2011. Dónal later completed a training program with the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) from 2012 to 2016, obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
