Senior Applications Engineer at Dukosi

Josh Leworthy has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Josh started their career at Taurus Electrical Cleethorpes Ltd as an Assistant Electrician, working in their family's business during their summers from school and college. In this role, they completed tasks such as re-wires, kitchen fitting, consumer unit installation, and general domestic installations.

Later, Josh joined Dukosi as an Engineering Summer Intern. Here, they designed, built, and tested a thermal chamber for temperature cycling of Li-ion cells and Dukosi's wireless Battery Management System (BMS). Josh also conducted CAD modeling, created 2D drawings for fabrication, and performed calibration and testing of BMS PCBs.

Josh then transitioned to the role of Mechanical Engineer - Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate at Dukosi. In this position, they collaborated with Dukosi Ltd and Heriot-Watt University to develop modular energy storage battery systems and thermal management solutions using Dukosi's unique battery management technology. Their responsibilities included designing and developing modular thermal management systems, conducting thermodynamic modeling of Li-ion cells using Matlab and Comsol Multiphysics, and creating 3D CAD designs using Inventor for battery modules, thermal management systems, test equipment, and PCBs.

Currently, Josh is working at Dukosi as an Applications Engineer, with a start date in January 2022. The specific details of this role, such as the end date and responsibilities, are not provided.
