Ileana Balcu

Ileana Balcu has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare, technology, and education industries. Ileana began their career in 1993 as a Software Developer for BCR, where they managed the installation and maintenance of a telephone system and integrated data communication systems. In 2001, they worked as a Consultant for Reuters and a Project Manager for Dulcian, Inc. Ileana then served as a Consultant - Project Manager, Database System Developer for the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services from 2005 to 2009. During this time, they also worked as IT Director for the Preeclampsia Foundation, where they helped patients connect to each other through website, forum, and share the stories programs. From 2009 to 2015, they worked as a Team Leader for RSU Dulcian Ethiopia - Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, coordinating all technical activities for building a web-based database system and supervising a team of 8 developers. Ileana then moved to Dulcian Health as a Project Manager and Patient Experience Director from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, they began working as an Adjunct Professor for The College of New Jersey and in 2018, they founded Woodbridge to Health. Ileana is also a Board Member at Large and Communications Team member for the Society for Participatory Medicine, helping people connect within the group and with others.

Ileana Balcu began their education in 1984 at Liceul Gheorghe Lazar, where they remained until 1988. Ileana then attended the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, where they earned a Master's degree in Electronics in 1993. In 2009, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare IT Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, and in 2019 they completed a Marketing program at altMBA. Additionally, in 2017 they earned a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell.
