Ileana Balcu has worked in a variety of roles since 1993. Ileana began their career as a Software Developer at BCR in Romania. In 2001, they moved to the US and worked as a Consultant for Reuters and Dulcian, Inc. Ileana also worked as an IT Director for the Preeclampsia Foundation and a Consultant - Project Manager, Database System Developer for the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. From 2009 to 2015, they were a Team Leader at RSU Dulcian Ethiopia - Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Project Manager and Patient Experience Director at Dulcian Health. In 2016, they began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at The College of New Jersey. In 2012, they joined the Society for Participatory Medicine as a Communications Team and Board Member at Large, and in 2018 they founded Woodbridge to Health.
Ileana Balcu began their educational journey in 1984 when they attended Liceul Gheorghe Lazar until 1988. Ileana then went on to pursue an MS in Electronics from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest from 1988 to 1993. In 2009, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare IT Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2011. In 2019, they attended altMBA for Marketing. Additionally, in 2017 they obtained a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell.
