Matthew Wellens

Matthew Wellens is an experienced sports journalist with a career spanning over a decade. Currently serving as a Sports Reporter at Duluth News Tribune since July 2014, Wellens has previously contributed as a WCHA columnist for USCHO from September 2013 to July 2014. Prior to that, Wellens held the position of Sports Editor at The Mining Journal from January 2011 to July 2014. Earlier experience includes roles as a Sports Reporter at Gannett from December 2007 to January 2011 and at Forum Communications for a brief period in 2007. Matthew Wellens earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northern Michigan University in 2007.
