Richard LaBelle is a seasoned mining executive with over 30 years of experience delivering globally over $7 Billion (CAD) in sales and value creation of over $15 Billion through a series of key M&A transactions and strategic growth. In the last 15 years, Mr. LaBelle has partnered with the world’s leading Private Equity Firms (PE) and originated, negotiated, and transformed some of the largest M&A deals in Mine Services, Drilling Services, Commercial Explosives, Mining Consumables and Ground Control/Support.
Previously, Mr. LaBelle was Chief Executive Officer of Norcast, where he partnered with PE in the purchase and subsequent integration of Swanmet Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, creating Norcast Wear Solutions – a global leader in mining related wear parts.
Mr. LaBelle is no stranger to Dumas, having acted as Chief Operating Officer from 2008-2010 where he was instrumental in partnering with PE in supporting a period of significant growth and re-positioning for the company as a first choice for building and operating in complex underground mines throughout the Americas.
Prior to this, Mr. LaBelle was Group General Manager and a significant owner of Boart Longyear’s Canadian and International business units, where he was responsible for the management of operations, including the acquisition and integration of several companies in Canada, Brazil, Central America, Russia and Africa. His past roles also include General Manager and Director of Orica’s Canadian operations, where he was one of the original operating executives in the creation of Orica and responsible for restructuring the business and managing a period of rapid growth for the company and consolidation within the industry.
Mr. LaBelle graduated as a Mining Engineering Technologist from Cambrian College and has a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University.
