Marilyn Canales

Marilyn Canales has over 30 years of work experience in various industries. Marilyn currently works as a Business Development Executive at Upbit since December 2021. Previously, they held the position of Service Fulfillment Manager at Upbit Exchange (Thailand) from April 2021 to October 2021. In this role, they managed the administrative team, oversaw financial aspects, and ensured business operation goals were met.

Prior to Upbit, Marilyn worked at the City of San Antonio from June 2015 to March 2021 as a Billing & Accounts Receivable Manager. Marilyn supervised the Accounts Receivables/Billings Section, developed policies and procedures, and coordinated daily workflow distribution.

From 2012 to 2015, they worked as an Accounting Manager at Rios Transportation, where they compiled and analyzed financial information and assisted with month-end closing procedures. Before that, they worked as an Accounting Analyst at Sirius Computer Solutions from September 2011 to June 2012, preparing financial reports and verifying transaction accuracy.

Marilyn also has experience at VILORE FOODS COMPANY, INC as a Credit & Accounts Receivable Manager and Accounts Receivable Supervisor from 2008 to 2010. Marilyn worked at Corporate Offices as a Senior Accountant from 2004 to 2007 and as an Accounts Receivable Analyst from 2000 to 2004.

Their earlier work experience includes roles as a Bank Clerk II at FIRST BANK OF PUERTO RICO from 1998 to 2000, a Collector I at INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICES from 1996 to 1998, and an Office Assistant Manager at CORDERO BADILLO ENTERPRISES from 1990 to 1996.

Marilyn Canales obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico in 2000. Marilyn then pursued higher education and completed their Master of Business Administration degree in Materials Management from Turabo University between 2006 and 2008.
