Christy Cairns

Christy Cairns is a Product Designer currently employed at DUNCAN & GROVE since November 2023 and also works as the Owner, Collaborator, and Maker at Sideline Creations since June 2022, alongside partner Finn d'Ascoli, focusing on sustainable homewares and design. As a Freelance Designer since June 2021, Christy has contributed to various projects. Previous experience includes a senior Bicycle Mechanic role at South Coast Bikes, where responsibilities included overseeing operations and training junior members, as well as a Resident Design Researcher position at Fab Lab Barcelona, exploring waste recycling and community workshops. Christy has also held several positions in the bicycle industry, including Workshop Manager at PROPEL BIKES LIMITED, where management and relationship-building were key responsibilities. Academic qualifications include a BSc in Product Design from the University of Brighton and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Brighton MET.
