Jan Claeyssens

Jan Claeyssens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jan began their career as a Hospitality worker at various events such as Batibouw, Sand Sculpture Festival, and Snow & Ice Sculpture Festival in 2004 and 2005. In 2005, they became a Print Assistant at Walleyn Graphics before transitioning to a role as an Inspector at Federale / Lokale Politie from 2005 to 2014.

In 2015, Jan joined Hemmersbach as a Mobile Engineer for a short period. Jan then took on the role of System Administrator at The Huddleston Centre, where they upgraded and modified their IT infrastructure. Jan also worked as a System and Network Administrator at FLEXTRADE UK LIMITED, where they played a crucial role in maintaining and expanding the company's infrastructure.

Jan's career in IT continued at Dunelm, where they held various positions starting as a DevOps Engineer in 2018. Jan progressed to DevSecOps Engineer, DevSecOps Tech-Lead, and currently serves as the DevSecOps Principal Engineer. With extensive experience in infrastructure management, network connectivity, monitoring, and configuration management, Jan has proven expertise in the IT field.

Jan Claeyssens has a diverse education history. Starting in 2000, they attended Provinciale Industriële Hogeschool Kortrijk and earned a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia & Communication Technologies. In 2014, they pursued further education at the Linux Foundation and obtained a certification as a Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator, specializing in Linux system administration.

Jan expanded their knowledge in the field of computer systems networking and telecommunications. In 2016, they attended Cisco and obtained a CCENT certification. Continuing their studies at Cisco, they obtained a CCNA certification in 2017. Additionally, they attended Elastic.co in the same year and completed a course on ElasticSearch Operations, Part I.

To enhance their skillset, Jan also obtained several certifications. In 2015, they achieved the Linux Foundation Certified Linux System Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation. Jan demonstrated proficiency in AWS by earning an AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification in 2018, as well as an AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification in 2020.

In terms of additional certifications, Jan obtained the following: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2023, Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) from Scrum Alliance in 2022, and Certified Agile Leadership for Orgs (CAL-O) from Scrum Alliance in 2022. Jan also achieved a duplicate AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020.
