Senior UX Designer at Dunning, Kruger & Associates

Helinä Hakala has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Helinä started their career as a Course Assistant and Tester for Java Programming at the University of Helsinki in 2012. Helinä then worked as a Supply Teacher at the City of Espoo from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, they worked as a Software Designer at Solita from 2014 to 2015 and as a UX Designer at Nitor Creations from 2015 to 2016. Helinä also worked as an English Conversation Teacher at Kyoto Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2017.

In 2017, Helinä took on the role of Election Communications Worker at Aalto University Student Union where they focused on increasing the voting percentage during the general council election season. Helinä concurrently worked as a Course Assistant at Aalto University from September to December 2017.

Helinä then joined Elisa in 2019 as a Master's Thesis Researcher, working on their thesis until October 2019. Helinä further expanded their experience at Netlight, starting as a Consultant-Designer in January 2018 and eventually becoming a Senior Consultant-Designer from January 2021 to January 2022.

Currently, Helinä is employed as a Senior UX Designer at Dunning, Kruger & Associates (DK&A) since 2022. Throughout their career, they have honed their skills in design, research, and teaching.

Helinä Hakala began their education by completing the Matriculation Examination at Ressu Upper Secondary School in 2011. Helinä then attended the University of Helsinki from 2011 to 2013, where they studied Computer Science. Hakala continued their education at Aalto University from 2013 to 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science (Technology) degree in Information Networks. Helinä later pursued a Master of Science (Technology) degree in Information Networks at Aalto University from 2016 to 2019. During their studies, they also had the opportunity to attend the Kyoto Institute of Technology in 2016 and 2017, although the exact degree and field of study obtained there were not specified. Prior to these higher education pursuits, Hakala attended Harrogate Grammar School from 2007 to 2008 for their Sixth form studies as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
