Chief Architect at Dunstan Thomas

Richard Tanner-Tremaine began their career in 1996 as a Senior Software Analyst/Developer for Cybicom (Africa) Technologies (Pty) Ltd, where they worked on crisis simulation software and a tactical level war game for the South African Defense Force. Richard quickly worked their way up to a team leader and was responsible for implementing development standards and methodologies for the development teams to follow. In 2000, they moved to GRIPS Ltd. as a Software Architecture and Engineering Team Leader, where they improved the architecture of the trade matching and processing subsystem and improved through-put capacity from approximately 20 thousand trades a day to being capable of processing over a million trades a day. In 2002, Richard joined Dunstan Thomas (DT) where they held the role of Chief Architect and Software Development Manager, looking after the development teams and processes. Richard was also a Solution Architect and Technical Lead on multiple software development projects across a variety of industries, primarily focussed in the financial arena. Richard also provided consultancy and mentoring on architecture, analysis and design, and development methodologies in the software development realm.

Richard Tanner-Tremaine attended Westville Boys High School from 1989 to 1993 and obtained a Matric. Richard then attended the University of Cape Town from 1994 to 1995 where they studied Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Mathematics. In addition, Richard has obtained a variety of certifications from edX, Microsoft, and the Scrum Alliance, including a Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance in 2011.
