Senior Content Program Manager at Duolingo

Duo Yang has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. They started their career in 2009 as a Warehouse Employee at Hodes Company, where they gained experience in warehouse operations and logistics. In 2011, they worked as a Senior Broker at Link Global Financial Services, focusing on research, institutional sales, and market updates. They then transitioned to a role as a Financial Dairy Consultant at Ajax, LLC, where they specialized in financial modeling and product development for the dairy industry.

In 2012, Duo became a Business Analyst at Scaled Dynamics for a brief period. They then joined Academic Approach as the Director of Curriculum, where they wrote and edited math and science curriculum according to industry standards. At Storyluck, Duo served as a Host and Storyteller for a monthly storytelling show.

From 2013 to 2022, Duo served as the Treasurer at HartLife NFP, managing finances and ensuring accurate budgeting. Concurrently, they worked as a Host/Storyteller at Storyluck until 2015. In 2018, Duo began working at Khan Academy as a Content Creator, writing math content, test prep articles, and exploring programming languages like JavaScript and SQL. They eventually became a Senior Content Creator, managing the math curriculum for the SAT transition to a digital format.

Most recently, Duo joined Duolingo as a Content Program Manager in 2022.

Duo Yang earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Ceramic Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. They continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Ceramic Engineering from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Duo Yang has also obtained several certifications in areas such as managerial skills, emotional intelligence, career planning, and leveraging transferable skills from LinkedIn in March 2022.
