Itai Hass

Itai Hass has a range of work experience in the field of engineering and education. Itai is currently working at Duolingo as the Director of Engineering, a role they started in August 2022. Prior to this position, Itai held the role of Senior Engineering Manager at Duolingo from September 2020 to August 2022. Before that, they were a Staff Software Engineer from March 2020 to September 2020 and a Senior Software Engineer from July 2017 to March 2020. Itai began their career at Duolingo as a Software Engineer in August 2015 and held the position until July 2017.

In addition to their work at Duolingo, Itai has also worked at the University of Toronto. Itai served as the Co-president of the University of Toronto Undergraduate Theory Group from September 2014 to April 2015. Prior to this role, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University from September 2011 to April 2014.

Itai Hass pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science at the University of Toronto from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, in September 2015, they obtained the certification of Duolingo English Fluency: Expert (Estimated) from Duolingo.
