James Leow

James Leow began their work experience in 2012 as a Student Associate at Miami University. From there, they worked as a Migrant Outreach Worker at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) in 2014, where they planned outreach to migrant camps, educated workers and families about their legal rights, and served as a liaison between attorneys and migrant workers. In 2014, they also worked as a High School Spanish Teacher at St. Ursula Academy. From 2016 to 2019, they served as a Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University, teaching and assisting in various capacities. In 2019, they became a Program Assistant at The Ohio State University Center for Latin American Studies. Since 2020, they have been working at Duolingo, first as a Senior Curriculum Designer and currently as a Learning Design Manager.

In 2015, James continued their education at The Ohio State University. From 2015 to 2017, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Hispanic Linguistics. Lastly, James completed their academic journey at The Ohio State University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Hispanic Linguistics from 2015 to 2020.
