Leah Lee has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Leah started their career as an Interdisciplinary Studio Teaching Assistant at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2018. Leah then had internships at the High Concept Laboratories NFP and The Field Museum, where they gained experience in design and videography. In 2020, they worked as a Motion Designer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and as a Lead Adobe Ambassador at Adobe. In 2022, they had the opportunity to intern at Meta as a Product Design Intern, specializing in AR. Later that year, they worked as a UX Designer at Google. Most recently, in 2023, they joined Samsung Research America (SRA) as an Interaction Design Intern, where they designed social interaction for an AI-powered digital human. Leah has now joined Duolingo as a Product Designer. Throughout their career, Leah has demonstrated strong skills in UI/UX design, motion design, and interdisciplinary teaching.
Leah Lee began their education in 2012 at Chadwick International School, where they obtained their high school diploma in 2016. Leah then attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2016 to 2020, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication Design.
In 2017, Leah briefly studied at Yonsei University, although no specific degree or field of study is listed for this period.
Currently, from 2021 to 2023, Leah is pursuing a Master's degree in Entertainment Technology (Computer Graphics) at Carnegie Mellon University.
In addition to their formal education, Leah has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they were recognized as a semifinalist in the ADAA (Adobe Design Achievement Awards) in both Commercial - Web Design and Fine Art - Graphic Design/Print categories. Leah also holds certifications in Python Data Structures and Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), obtained from the University of Michigan through Coursera in 2021.
