Shandy Tsai has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They started their career as a User Experience Researcher at National Tsing Hua University in 2013. In 2015, they worked as a Marketing Design Intern at BEZALEL. They then transitioned to Internet Brands in 2016, where they served as an Associate Product Manager. At Internet Brands, they were involved in delivering effective product specifications, conducting user interviews, and setting measurable success criteria. In 2017, Shandy joined Fevo as a Product Designer and later became the Lead Product Designer. They contributed to revolutionizing how people shop with friends online through the Fevo platform.

In 2019, Shandy took on the roles of Co-Founder at UX East Meets West and Co-Founder at the Asian Creative Foundation. These initiatives aimed to connect creatives and spark collaborations within the Asian community. Additionally, in the same year, they joined BCG Digital Ventures as a Senior Experience Designer, eventually becoming the Lead Experience Designer. Shandy's work at BCG Digital Ventures involved designing and developing various projects, such as a field force management ecosystem that improved workflow efficiency and resulted in significant benefits. They also led a design and research team, created design systems, and conducted design workshops and training sessions for internal employees and clients.

Most recently, in 2022, Shandy joined Duolingo as a Senior Product Designer. This role involves contributing to the design of language-learning products and services. Throughout their career, Shandy has demonstrated skills in design leadership, user research, collaboration, and driving strategic discussions with users, clients, and partners.

Shandy Tsai obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from National Tsing Hua University in the year 2014. In 2011, they participated in a summer session at UCLA, focusing on Communication Studies. In 2012, they also took part in a summer exchange program at Fudan University, studying Marketing/Marketing Management, General. Later, in the years 2014-2016, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Product Development Engineering at the University of Southern California.
