George Ward III

George Ward III, Ed.D., is an experienced educational professional currently serving as a School Administrator at Durham Public Schools since November 2021. Previously, George held the position of School Principal at a Charter School from July 2019 to November 2021 and worked in school leadership within the Wake County Public School System from July 2017 to June 2019. George has also contributed to NC New Schools / Breakthrough Learning as the Director of the NC STEM Teacher Education Program, supporting educators with school innovation and recruitment strategies for quality teacher development. Earlier roles include serving as a School Administrator and Mathematics Teacher in the Wake County Public Schools from December 2006 to January 2013. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from North Carolina State University, a Master of School Administration from Western Carolina University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from North Carolina State University.
