Maria Bajgain

Maria Bajgain currently serves as the Director of Marketing for Durham Public Schools, a position held since September 2023. With extensive experience as a freelance writer and editor since 1999, Maria has also worked as a Marketing Consultant and Content Specialist. Prior roles include Public Information Officer for the Town of Morrisville, Communications Specialist at Duke University School of Law, and Communications Specialist at Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment. Earlier career highlights feature roles as Web Content Manager for a local personal injury law firm, Student Affairs Coordinator at Duke University School of Law, English teacher in South Korea, and various positions in journalism. Maria holds an M.A. in English with a focus on Creative Writing from North Carolina State University and a B.A. in English from North Carolina Central University, along with a Nanodegree in Intro to Programming from Udacity.
