Ryan Dimick has a comprehensive work experience in the robotics and engineering fields. Ryan began their career in 2018 as a Mechanical Design Engineer at ACCO Engineered Systems, where they designed, implemented, and serviced HVAC and building automation systems in large-scale residential and commercial buildings. Ryan then moved on to the University of California, Berkeley in 2020, where they worked as a Graduate Student Instructor. In the same year, they also began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at HiPer Robotics Lab, where they collaborated in a team to design and prototype a collision resistant, autonomous UAV to function in hazardous environments. Ryan also designed and implemented autonomous vehicle control systems in C++ and ROS, as well as developed an inertial navigation system using only base level sensors and modified extended Kalman Filter. In 2021, they worked as a Robotics R&D Intern at Dishcraft. Ryan is currently working as a Robotics Software Engineer at Dusty Robotics, starting in 2022.
Ryan Dimick obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis between 2014 and 2018. Ryan then obtained their Engineer In Training certification from NCEES in May 2018. Ryan then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering - Dynamics/Controls from the University of California, Berkeley, which they are expected to complete in 2021.
