Lead Engineer at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water

Gwyn Jones has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gwyn began their career as a Site Engineer at John Laing Construction Limited in 1980. Gwyn then worked as an Engineer at Halcrow, where they were involved in designing various projects, including highways, bridges, and the Second Severn Crossing. Gwyn later joined Wallace Evans & Partners Limited as a Senior Engineer before moving on to Hyder Plc as a Corporate Auditor. In this role, they led risk-based internal audit assignments and specialized in major project reviews. Following this, Gwyn worked at KPMG as a Manager in Management Assurance Services, where they managed and undertook client assignments in internal audit, risk management, and corporate governance. Gwyn then joined Hyder Consulting as a Management Consultant, working on global projects such as facilitating risk and value management workshops and preparing contractual claims. At Hyder Consulting, Gwyn also served as a Business/Commercial Manager, leading the commercial management of the most diverse and profitable office in the UK. Gwyn also managed the UK Acquisitions Programme, identifying target companies, preparing financial models, and negotiating prices and terms with vendors. Gwyn's most recent position was at Welsh Water, where they served as a Lead Engineer.

Gwyn Jones completed a Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering from Oxford Polytechnic from 1982 to 1984. Gwyn then enrolled in the University of Wales, Cardiff from 1984 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. Additionally, they pursued another Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd during the same period.
