Alan Lazarus started their work experience as a Clerical Assistant at Argyll and Bute Council in June 2015 for a period of three months. Alan then worked at the University of Glasgow from October 2017 to May 2020 as a Tutor and Demonstrator, where they taught workshops and tutorials on probability and Bayesian modeling, as well as assisted with labs on R programming and data analysis. During this time, they also co-supervised an MSc summer project on dimensionality reduction of the left ventricle geometry.
From January 2022 to July 2023, Alan worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Glasgow, focusing their research on deep learning models for generation of cardiac geometries and their impact on mathematical models. Alan found that these automated approaches are comparable to human operators for cardio-mechanical modeling.
Currently, Alan is employed at Dxcover as a Data Scientist, starting from July 2023.
Alan Lazarus has a strong educational background in statistics and mathematics. Alan began their education at the University of Glasgow in 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics and Statistics in 2016. Building upon this foundation, they pursued further studies at the same institution, completing an MSc by Research in Statistics in 2017. Alan's academic journey culminated in their achievement of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics from the University of Glasgow in 2021.
