Surabhi Sonam

Surabhi Sonam, PhD, currently serves as a Member of the Sectional Committee on Brain Computer Interfaces at the Bureau of Indian Standards since January 2025, and as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Bioengineering at D Y Patil International University, Akurdi, Pune, since July 2019, where responsibilities include managing departmental administration and developing course curricula for MSc Medical Biotechnology and BTech Bioengineering. Additional roles include Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports and Mentor or Change for Atal Innovation Mission Official, both since 2021. Past research experience includes positions as a Research Fellow at Institut Jacques Monod/CNRS & University Paris Diderot, and the National University of Singapore, focusing on topics such as fracture formation in epithelial tissues and collective cell migration. Surabhi Sonam holds a Ph.D. in Mechanobiology from the National University of Singapore and a B.Tech. in Bioengineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology, and Research Academy.
