Tomas Mendez

Director, Engineering at Dynamic Energy

Tomas brings over 14 years of utility industry knowledge to his new role as Director of Engineering from his tenure at Duke Energy. He brings experience in project management, project engineering, power generation, transmission and distribution, utility-scale wind construction, wind O&M, C&I Solar construction, utility-scale solar O&M, and engineering management. Tomas pioneered projects such as the Smart Grid during his early years with Duke, played a key role as a project engineer for 710MW of wind construction in Texas and Oklahoma, helped keep Duke’s 2,900 MW of operating renewable assets running as an Electrical Engineer, and managed projects and a team of project engineers in the C&I solar industry as part of Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions. Client portfolios included Target, Amazon, Niagara, Sephora, and Louis Vuitton.

Tomas made his journey to the USA and completed his Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from Marquette University in 2002. He is a licensed professional engineer since 2015 and holds a certificate in Transmission and Distribution from Gonzaga University.
