Melissa H. Luckman

Melissa H. Luckman has a diverse range of work experience. Melissa H. began their career as an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Leonard R. Sperber, where they conducted civil litigation in various practice areas. Melissa H. later joined TORINO & BERNSTEIN, P.C. as an Associate Attorney, handling civil litigation, drafting pleadings, and conducting discovery.

In 2011, Melissa established their own law firm, the Law Office of Melissa Luckman, Esq. Here, they specialized in transactional residential and commercial real estate, representing buyers, sellers, banks, and lenders. Melissa H. also served as a national consultant on disaster preparation, recovery, and redevelopment, drafting legislation and policy papers.

Melissa then joined Compass 82, where they held the roles of Chief Counsel and Director of Development & Compliance. In this position, they managed insurance claims for property damage, coordinated disaster recovery plans, and connected survivors with necessary resources. Melissa H. also reviewed RFPs, drafted grant proposals, and managed trademark portfolios.

In 2016, Melissa started working as a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Disaster Relief Law Clinic at Touro Law Center. Here, they focused on assisting New York Sandy-affected households, offering legal assistance in areas such as federal and state recovery programs and insurance litigation. Melissa H. also provided consultation to government offices and represented homeowners in recovering insurance proceeds.

Additionally, Melissa was an Adjunct Faculty member at Briarcliffe College, teaching courses on law and paralegal studies. Melissa H. also served as a Young Lawyer Division Disaster Services Team Member at the American Bar Association, providing legal assistance to disaster survivors.

Most recently, Melissa worked as an Attorney at the United Way of Long Island, coordinating real estate transactions and representing Superstorm Sandy clients in recovery programs. Melissa H. also worked on affordable housing projects and assisted non-profit organizations in ownership transfers.

In 2020, Melissa joined Dynamic Labs as the VP of Strategic Business Development, where they focused on providing optical consumable supplies to optical professionals, retail stores, and labs.

Throughout their career, Melissa has demonstrated a strong commitment to disaster relief, real estate, and legal advocacy.

Melissa H. Luckman obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from LIU Post, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Melissa H. then pursued their Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where they attended from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, Melissa H. Luckman obtained a certification as a Notary Public in the year 2010.
