Sjouke Ritsema

Co Founder at E.A.Z. Wind

Sjouke Ritsema has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Sjouke co-founded the company E.A.Z. Wind in 2014, where they developed small windmills specifically designed for farms. Sjouke also served as the Head of Procurement at E.A.Z. Wind from January 2021 to September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager at Triple Solar BV from October 2013 to January 2015, overseeing various projects. In 2013, they were involved in the design and manufacturing of a grid-connected 2kW wind turbine for a wind project. Sjouke gained experience in energy-efficient home renovation as a part of Teamwork Technology in 2012. Sjouke also had a traineeship at Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in 2011, where they worked as a design engineer on wind energy projects, including a technology transfer to Sri Lanka. Sjouke started their career as a member of the board and windsurfing commissioner at D.W.V. Hardboard, where they were responsible for gear and instruction.

Sjouke Ritsema obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from Saxion University of Applied Sciences between 2008 and 2012. Additionally, in the academic year 2010-2011, Sjouke pursued a minor in Environmental Science at Utrecht University. Before attending university, from 2000 to 2006, Sjouke attended Ommelander College, focusing on beta courses as part of their secondary education.
