Joel Black has a long history of experience in the hospitality industry. In 2007, they began as Bar Manager at Comme Ca restaurant, where they created a highly regarded menu of over 22 classic and originally designed cocktails. This menu was ranked the fifth best bar in the country by Details magazine. In 2009, they became the General Manager of both The Doheny and Cana Rum Bar, where they managed staff, schedule, and payroll for all employees. Joel also conducted extensive staff trainings on rum, including training packets, educational materials, and an extensive compendium of fresh juice cocktails. In 2010, they became Cofounder of Black Lab Ventures and Brand Ambassador for Still House. At Black Lab Ventures, they provided event coordination, staffing, mixology, catering, entertainment, and security services. In 2013, they became the Brand Master for Porton, LLC, where they supported the growth of pisco in the United States through marketing, events, and education. Finally, in 2019, they founded and became CEO of E-Cinch, a company that helps service businesses optimize their sales online.
Joel Black attended KD Studios Actors Conservatory of the Southwest from 2001 to 2003, earning an Arts degree in Production/ Performing Arts. In 2007, Joel Black completed a Level 1 Somilier course at ISA.
