Rex Chou has a diverse and extensive work experience in the beauty industry. Rex began their career at L'Oréal USA, where they held various marketing roles for Garnier Fructis Hair Care. Rex then transitioned to L'Oréal Spain, where they served as a Product Manager for L'Oréal Paris Skin Care and later as a Marketing Group Manager for Garnier Skin Care. During their time at L'Oréal Spain, they achieved significant success with the launch of the first "BB Cream" in Spain and led the brands to gain market share and grow in a declining market. Following their international experience, they joined The Body Shop International as the Global Marketing Axe Director for Bath & Body Care. Rex then returned to L'Oréal USA as an Assistant Vice President, overseeing HR Learning and later leading the Garnier SkinActive business, successfully repositioning the brand and achieving growth. Rex further extended their expertise by joining Verishop as the Head of Marketing and later assumed the role of AVP, Brand Incubator. Most recently, Rex Chou has been serving as the Founder & General Manager of Ghost Democracy, where they launched a DTC skincare brand focused on clean skincare at affordable prices. Rex was responsible for every aspect of the brand's development, including product formulation, brand strategy, marketing initiatives, and growth optimization. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Brand Marketing at E.L.F. Beauty. Overall, Rex Chou has demonstrated strong leadership and success in brand management, marketing strategy, and product development within the beauty industry.
Rex Chou earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Marketing from the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2002 to 2006. Rex also participated in an exchange program at Esade in 2005, studying Finance and Marketing.
