Paul Plath has a diverse work experience in the energy sector. Paul started their career as a Commercial and Industrial Service Engineer at Public Service Company of Colorado in 1983. Here, they managed gas and electric service installations for large commercial and industrial customers, conducted energy conservation studies, and served as a customer service manager for the district heating system in Denver. In 1985, they joined R.W. Beck as a Managing Consulting Engineer, where they specialized in energy project due diligence, construction monitoring, performance testing, and O&M monitoring. Paul also worked as a construction manager and site resident engineer. In 1997, they moved to Harris Group and became the Director of Consulting Services, focusing on energy project due diligence, construction monitoring, performance testing, and O&M assessment. Finally, in 1999, they became the President of E3 Consulting, an independent engineering and technical advisory services company specializing in the energy sector. In 2014, E3 became a subsidiary of NAES Corporation while still operating independently.

Paul Plath received their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Colorado Boulder. Paul completed their degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1979 to 1983 at the University of Colorado Boulder.
