Mark Sprawson has over 10 years of work experience in the energy industry. Mark started their career at United Utilities as a Grid & Primary Development Engineer, where they gained expertise in network planning and system studies for the 33kV and 132kV networks.
In 2009, Mark joined EA Technology and held various roles within the company. Mark started as a Senior Consultant and then became the Head of Advanced Network Solutions, leading a team of engineers and project managers. Mark'sresponsibilities included working with Distribution Network Operators, renewable energy developers, and major energy users.
From 2016 to 2019, Mark served as the Head of Network Innovation at EA Technology, where they focused on techno-economic modeling, innovation strategy development, cost benefit analyses, and smart grid demonstrator projects.
Since April 2019, Mark has been the Director of Consultancy Insights at EA Technology, leading the consultancy services and driving innovative approaches into the business.
Throughout their career, Mark has been actively involved in industry forums and projects related to the development of smart grids.
Mark Sprawson attended the University of Liverpool from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Prior to attending university, they also attended Liverpool Blue Coat School. In addition to their education, Mark Sprawson holds the certification of Chartered Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
