Melanie Overton is an accomplished leader in higher education with extensive experience in strategic planning and advancement. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy, Planning & Advancement for Research Advisory Services at EAB since March 2021, Overton previously held multiple leadership positions at Kansas Wesleyan University, including VP of Enrollment Management and VP of Advancement, where responsibilities included fundraising and marketing. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant General Secretary at the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church and Program Manager at Vanderbilt University. Overton's educational credentials include an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Dallas Baptist University, and a B.S. in Business from Lambuth University.
