Hugo Staton

Hugo Staton is an experienced professional in the field of metallurgy, currently serving as Mill Operations Manager at Eagle Mine since March 2014, with a progression of roles including Processing Superintendent, Chief Metallurgist, and Senior Metallurgist. Responsibilities include coordinating metallurgical test work, overseeing the metallurgical lab, implementing advanced control in the flotation circuit, supporting plant optimization efforts, and enhancing health and safety culture. Previously, Hugo worked at Lundin Mining Corporation as a Metallurgist, focusing on process improvements in polymetallic ore processing, and gained early experience as an Industrial Placement Student at GlaxoSmithKline in drug discovery. Hugo holds a Master's Degree in Minerals Engineering from Camborne School of Mines and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath, along with multiple certifications in European Mineral Engineering from Aalto University, RWTH Aachen University, and Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
