Glenna Purcell

Glenna Purcell, a Board Trustee of the Eagle Pass Independent School District, was appointed to the School Board after the passing of her husband, Lynn Purcell, a significant member of the community and a board trustee himself. Ms. Purcell chose to serve on the board as her husband did and was elected in 2010 and 2012. Ms. Purcell worked within the school district for 28 years before she chose to retire. Currently, Ms. Purcell is the Treasurer of the “First United Methodist Church”, where she is an active member of her congregation. In addition, Ms. Purcell is a member of the “Maverick County Retired School Personnel Association”. Ms. Purcell also serves as a member of the “Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association”. Ms. Purcell, a west Texas native, moved to Eagle Pass, Texas, 47 years ago and has since lived and thrived within the community. Ms. Purcell believes education begins at the home and is cultivated in the school. She is committed to the students and employees of the school district and is very proud of the successes of the students. Due to her extensive experience as a former employee of EPISD, Ms. Purcell is very aware of the hard work and dedication required in order to facilitate the many achievements of the students.
