Harold D. Petty

Principal, Director of Medical Design at ESa

Harold joined ESa in 1972 as a Project Coordinator, after studying Industrial Arts at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. He has risen to become the firm’s Director of Medical Design. He believes that every project is unique to the site and must exceed clients’ expectations. To Harold, good design “comes from the inside out,” and should be sustainable and improve the quality of life for building occupants.

Harold has been involved in hundreds of new construction and addition/renovation projects throughout the U.S., and he has extensive experience with master planning and design of medical facilities of all sizes—from large hospitals to ambulatory surgery centers and medical office buildings. Harold is heavily involved in the early planning stages of projects, working closely with the firm’s project architects and field team to help ensure that the design is appropriately implemented.

Harold believes excellent client service is achieved by remaining in close communication, exceeding clients’ expectations of the service we deliver, and establishing client longevity—Harold has been working with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Memphis, TN, since the mid-1990s. Outside of the office, Harold is active in his church and loves spending time with his wife, especially while traveling together. Harold enjoys hobbies, like gardening, reading mysteries, and spending time outside.
