Carla E. Small has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Carla E. is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at EarlyBird Education, where they are leading the launch of a technology platform focused on identifying potential literacy challenges in pre-readers. Prior to this role, Carla held various positions at Boston Children's Hospital, including Executive Director and Sr. Director of the Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator, where they played a key role in building and scaling digital health technologies. Carla E. also served as the interim Chief Innovation Officer and Clinical Innovation Program Manager at the hospital. Carla has also served on the School Board at Codman Academy Charter Public School and on the Digital Advisory Board at Edwards Lifesciences. Additionally, they have been a part of the Advisory Council at the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women's Leadership and an honoree at Rev Boston. Carla E. has also held positions at Medtronic, Strategia Solutions, Health Advances, and Work/Family Directions throughout their career.
Carla E. Small holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Dartmouth College. Carla E. also obtained an MBA from Harvard Business School. In addition, they have an Innovation Certificate from ASU GSV Summit, which they obtained in October 2020.
