Mark Hoekzema

Chief Meteorologist, Director Of Meteorological Operations at Earth Networks

Mark Hoekzema has over 30 years of experience in meteorology. Mark started their career in 1989 as a Meteorologist and Weather Producer at NBC/WRC-TV. In 2000, they joined Earth Networks as the Chief Meteorologist and Director of Meteorological Operations, where they oversee meteorological content integration and acquisition across all product lines. Their initial role at Earth Networks was to manage the WeatherBug desktop application.

Mark Hoekzema earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science/Meteorology from the University of Maryland in 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Meteorology at the same university, completing their studies in 1990. Prior to their time at the University of Maryland, Mark attended Calvin University from 1982 to 1984, where they studied Engineering. Additionally, Mark has obtained various certifications in areas such as inclusive leadership, coaching employees, managing virtual teams, and cybersecurity at work from LinkedIn.
