Senior Mission Systems Engineer at Earth Observant

Timothy Russell has worked in the aerospace industry since 2011. In 2011, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland College Park, where they researched the performance of high-temperature superconducting material in wireless power transfer. Timothy co-wrote a paper detailing experimental results which was presented at an AIAA student conference and used MATLAB to design a matching circuit. In 2013, they began working at Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc. as a Satellite Controller, providing 24/7 operational support for NASA's EOS Terra, Aqua, and Aura satellites. In 2016, they joined KBRwyle as a Satellite Subsystem Engineer, monitoring and analyzing the performance of the Command & Data Handling subsystem for NASA's EOS Aura mission. In 2018, they began working at Maxar Technologies as a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer, providing Command and Data Handling, Telecommunication, and Flight Software subsystem support for Maxar's (formerly DigitalGlobe's) fleet of operational satellites. Timothy also served as Sr. Staff Spacecraft Engineer and Staff Spacecraft Engineer. In 2023, they began working at EOI Space as a Senior Ground Systems Engineer.

Timothy Russell attended the University of Maryland from 2009 to 2013 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Afterwards, they attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering Sciences.
