Head of Family Operations at Earth

Amelia Gallegos has a diverse work experience in various industries. Amelia started their career at Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home, where they served as a Funeral Director & Embalming Apprentice. During their time there, they completed their internship and apprenticeship, performing embalmings and leading funeral services.

After that, Amelia worked at Anthropologie, initially as a Sales Associate and later as an Assistant Operations Manager and Senior Sales Associate. Amelia gained experience in sales and retail management during their tenure.

Amelia then joined Trident Society as a Location Manager for a brief period before transitioning to Tulip, an online funeral home/startup. At Tulip, they held multiple roles, including Family Care Specialist, Family Care Regional Lead, Family Care Manager, and eventually Director of Online Services. Amelia played a significant role in the company's expansion and success, working on state laws and regulations, building partnerships, and developing software.

Most recently, Amelia worked at Tree Frog Treks as a Naturalist, where they taught science programs to children using rescued reptiles and amphibians.

Currently, Amelia is the Head of Family Operations at Earth, a company that specializes in environmentally-friendly alternatives to burial and cremation. Their role involves overseeing the transformation of bodies into nutrient-rich soil and managing the distribution and conservation of the soil for families and future generations.

Amelia Gallegos completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from the University of Portland, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. After that, they pursued further education at Mt. Hood Community College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science. Amelia attended Mt. Hood Community College from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Amelia Gallegos has obtained various certifications. Amelia became an Embalmer certified by the State of Oregon in June 2016. Later, they obtained a Funeral Director certification from the State of California in November 2018. Most recently, in January 2022, Amelia Gallegos gained another Funeral Director certification, this time from the State of Washington.
